Lip Fillers

Full lips

Your lips have a prominent place in your face and are important for your appearance: with full lips you look healthy and youthful. Partly for this reason, lip fillers have become very popular in a short time. For example, a lip filler can help you if you find that you:

  • Have too thin lips
  • Have asymmetrical lips
  • Do not meet the fashion requirements

The lip filler treatment is short and you see the results immediately after treatment!

Lip filler from a certified doctor

Lip filler: for some, it’s almost like going to get a loaf of bread at the bakery. Do you want to plump up your lips without a doubt? Then pay very close attention to where you do this. Because lip fillers are popular, the market is full of uncertified providers who may use low-quality products.
Thinking about getting your lips filled with a mesogun or hyaluron pen?
Then first read why these treatments are not recommended!

To make a long story short: when it comes to lip filling, always choose a certified doctor with the option of ultrasound. This is because a certified doctor knows all the details regarding lip fillers, skin types and complications. In addition, working with an ultrasound reduces the chance of a complication from lip fillers.

Lip fillers are hot, but...

…There is a significant drawback to striving for perfection. Since no one is perfect, this pursuit can quickly feel like an endless battle with yourself. Despite the fact that lip fillers involve only a short, relatively simple treatment, that doesn’t always mean that lip filling is the solution for you.

What you want is sometimes not what you need.
Small steps. Everyone has natural features that are beautiful. The strength of a certified physician lies in enhancing the right features, or weakening the others.

As a cosmetic doctor KNMG, I can advise you according to your desires. My motto is not for nothing to make a big difference with small adjustments. Naturally beautiful. I want you to feel good and beautiful when you look in the mirror, without losing expression. If we can achieve this result with fillers in the lips, then we will go for it together.

Lip fillers: complications

However, as with any treatment, there are risks. Fortunately, the chance of complications with fillers in lips is quite low if you have the lip filling done by a certified physician. The chance of getting complications is 0.0004%. However, complications do occur, they could include the following:

  • prolonged pain and tenderness
  • compression of vessels or necrosis: this manifests itself in black spots
  • hardening or hypersensitivity reaction

In case of any complication with your lip fillers, or even any doubt: contact us immediately!

FAQ

What are wrinkles?

A wrinkle is a fold in the surface of the skin. With a permanent wrinkle, there is a lack of collagen, elastin and hyaluronic acid. As we age, these substances diminish and our skin becomes wrinkled and less smooth.

How do you get rid of wrinkles?

Facial wrinkles can be removed with fillers or a temporary muscle relaxant. Creams, on the other hand, are not able to bring volume into the skin or relax muscles.

What is collagen?

Collagen is responsible for the firmness of the skin. Translated from Greek, collagen means “to bind together”. This binding protein sticks tissues together, creating firm connections. Collagen makes up about 70% of your skin, and as it decreases, your skin becomes flabby and wrinkles more.

What is elastin?

Elastin is an elastic protein in connective tissue. This protein ensures that the tissue can stretch (elasticity). So your skin remains vital and elastic with elastin. As your skin contains less elastin, wrinkles develop and the skin starts to sag more.

What is hyaluronic acid?

Hyaluronic acid has the property of binding moisture. Its reduced presence results in sagging skin, wrinkles and loss of volume.

Do the fillers have a lasting effect?

The body breaks down fillers after about a year and then the treatment can be repeated.
There is no limit to how many treatments you can do in succession, but you should always take into account the quality of the filler and the doctor treating you.

I want a tighter face without surgery, is that possible?

Filling grooves and wrinkles with fillers increases volume in the face. It smoothes out sunken areas, fine or deep lines (e.g. wrinkles) and gives you a tighter-looking face. If the skin is very slack, a facelift, possibly in combination with a filler, can be a good solution.

Is it possible to remove wrinkles under the eyes?

The tear ducts are the deep wrinkles under the eyes. By filling the wrinkles under the eyes, the tear duct is less visible and this gives you a less tired look.

Can you remove the wrinkles on my forehead?

On the forehead, vertical permanent lines can appear between the eyebrows and horizontal wrinkles can be seen above the eyebrows. By treating the forehead muscle with a temporary muscle relaxant, the wrinkles on the forehead become less visible. Between the eyebrows, the cosmetic doctor can fill the frown line with fillers. The result: a relaxed and rested face.

What is the difference between crow's feet and laugh lines?

Laugh lines are the wrinkles under the eye and crow’s feet are next to the eye. The wrinkles are caused by the same muscle and the lines can be made less visible with a temporary muscle relaxant.

Are there different filler variants?

Each treatment area requires a different filler variant. For example, one is specially designed to bring volume back to large areas such as the cheeks, and another is ideally suited to filling smokers’ lines on the upper lip. Filling smokers’ lines requires a different substance, namely: the wrinkles are less deep and less filler is needed.

Can fillers also be used against my nose wrinkles?

Nasal wrinkles also known as Bunny lines are the wrinkles on the sides of the bridge of the nose. They occur as a result of overactive muscles in the nose. With a temporary muscle relaxant, nasal wrinkles can be corrected.

Can my crooked nose be corrected?

If you are discontented with the shape of your nose, a nose filler offers a good solution for a crooked nose, a hooked nose, a hanging nose tip or a hump on the nose. By filling in the bridge of the nose or lifting the tip of the nose for example, the nose can optically take on a straight shape. The cosmetic doctor uses temporary fillers for the nose, which are broken down by the body after one year. If you want to retain the result, you will need to repeat the treatment.
